So this weekend I went to Glasgow with Eline to visit Anuschka and I didn’t realize how much I had missed my MacBook untill I got back to my room in Gent and saw it standing there … waiting for me! It’s not like I really needed it in Glasgow, but when I got back, I had so much to catch up on (email, RSS feeds etc.)
But since everyone already knows that I’m a computer-aficionado, I’ll talk a little about Glasgow! My first impression was that it was a very grey and grim city, which was also my final impression actually :s But I do think it’s a very vibrant city, it just looks old and worn down …
It was very good seeing Anuschka again! She seems to have settled in very well and showed us around Glasgow on Saturday. (no pictures yet, because Miss Computer-aficionado left her camera cable at home :s) We visited Glasgow University, Kelvingrove museum and the Botanical Gardens. In the evening we had dinner in an … IRISH bar … where I had Sheppard’s Pie and we watched Ireland play rugby against Canada!
On Sunday we took a trip to Loch Lomond, the Trossachs and Stirling Castle! It was very cold, windy and it rained a lot, but it was a very good trip, being out in nature, seeing the Lochs, and the castle was very nice and a good way to end the trip!
So what did I remember from this weekend? Glasgow is a very cold city, where people drive on the wrong side of the road and winter-destinations should be travelled to in summer!
